“There’s got to be more to it than this!”
Have you ever said that about the Bible? In the Apprentice series I’ve encouraged you to spend time in the Gospels. Of course there’s the whole rest of that great old book that encourages, challenges, and at times, confuses.
I really love the Bible, even with all the confusing bits. I’ve found it to be so powerful in my life. But I remember, growing up with a lot of oughts and shoulds around it, wondering if it would ever make any sense, or if I’d ever really connect with God.
As a pastor I’ve sat with more people than I can count who have expressed that same frustration. Maybe you have too?
An idea turning into reality!
That’s why I’m creating the online course you’ve heard me mention. It’s called: “Look. Listen. Live: How to read the Bible to hear God and grow, without having to be a legalist, a theology professor or a crackpot.”
I’m so excited about this right now.
It’s shaping up to have about 35 lessons in 5 modules. Some will be video of me teaching, some will be webinar style, where you’ll hear my voice, and see slides with instructional information. There will be downloadable support resources as well including a workbook, and maybe even an ebook.
It’s a big endeavor. The core content is all written, and now I’m translating it into it’s online form.
Today I finally got all the necessary gear in place to start filming the video segments. It was so fun. I wanted to share just one excerpt with you. This is a 12 minute segment that will be a part of the introductory module. Check it out. I’d love to hear what you think.(If you’ve got problem with the video, find it here.)
If it intrigues you, you can learn a little more about the course here. I’m definitely going to need some folks to be my beta testers in the near future. Maybe that could be you!
