Why do you need core values?
Well, do you want your life to be guided by someone else's values?
Other people's agendas are competing for your time and resources. You use a schedule and a budget so that your time and money are used intentionally. Without those tools, you'd live in reaction to other people's values. The same thing is true with your life direction. Discovering Your Authentic Core Values walks you step-by-step through a simple process that will help you identify your authentic core values.
These are not aspirational values.
Those are the values you wish were true of you. We can all come up with a long list of words that we would love to be true of us. Often, that's all that Core Value exercises lead you to.
Those words may be inspiring, but they aren't who you really are. We're talking about your authentic inside-out core values that already have played an enormous role in shaping your life.
This little 70-page book is step-by-step guide that will walk you through a journaling process where you can discover these important motivations, and learn how to use them for greater focus, a stronger sense of mission, and more happiness.
By discovering and naming these essential motivations, you can begin to align your life with who God made you to be. Once you've done the work of articulating your core values, you have an invaluable aid for an intentional life.
A Powerful Resource...
This book is a wonderful tool for helping you sort out your own personal values. Marc...has put together a powerful resource that will take you deeper into figuring out what you are about and what is important to you in this life. What I love most about this book is that the author has personally walked through all of it and used these steps to identify his own core values, with success.

East to follow & Authentic
Well thought out and authentic. Easy to follow step by step guide to peel back the layers of outward perception of self as you seek your truth. Marc walks you through each step and sets the book up for the reader to take at their own pace. Would also work great as a tool for small groups

Key to living healthy lives...
This is a short but very helpful book that gives you tools to develop a list of core values that can then help you identify the best decisions in various circumstances...Knowing this is key to living healthy lives, having healthy relationships, etc. I found that the insights in this book played out long after I actually went through the exercises, as I began living my life differently on what I had learned..I'd recommend this to anyone who seriously wants to identify what drives them and how to live purposefully to be who they are created to be.

This book was purchased to use in a class...This was an ideal text for the course and allowed me to understand my personal core values and how others view me as an individual. Each assignment in the text offered great insight in discovering what motivates me and how my core values are used in everyday living situations. The text is spiritually written and allows me to understand how God is the motivator of my personal, professional and spiritual being. I am now able to understand and accept me for who I am and what I value in life through using this text. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to understand how your core values are centered around your daily living.

The most practical and most useful self-help.
So I am in the middle of reading many, many self-improvement books. This book has proven to be the most practical, as well as the most useful. In my view, the author has more than adequately filled a gap in the many books written on, but really talking around, living an intentional, goal-driven life based on a mission statement. It was hard for me to find a good book concentrating exclusively on values, and this one more than fits the bill. Thanks to an author who not only writes well, but offers good advice that someone can actually use and learn from while in the midst of making personal changes. Thanks for to the author for writing a book solely dedicated to values: what they are, how to determine which of yours are authentic, and what to do about it, if you're serious about improving. No rah-rah motivation stuff here.
